On April 16, Ambassador Qi Qianjin of China to Croatia met with Mufti Aziz Hasanović, head of the Islamic Community in Croatia.
Ambassador Qi noted that China continues to advance the building of the Chinese nation as one single community. He emphasized that China’s ten Muslim ethnic groups have long been integrated with Chinese society and culture, and their lawful rights and religious freedoms are fully protected. Ambassador Qi provided a detailed account of the real situation of Muslims in Xinjiang, stressing that allegations such as “genocide” and “forced labor” are completely unfounded and false. He welcomed Mufti Hasanović and members of the Croatian Muslim community to visit Xinjiang and see the region for themselves.
Mufti Hasanović shared information about the Muslim community in Croatia, noting the Islamic Community’s efforts to promote active integration into mainstream society and ensure equality and harmony among all religious groups. He expressed appreciation for China’s religious policies, stating that his understanding aligns with the Ambassador’s remarks, and voiced readiness to strengthen communication and cooperation with the Chinese Embassy in Croatia.
