On January 5, Chinese Ambassador to Croatia Qi Qianjin met with Dr. Pascal Hector, German Ambassador to Croatia .

Ambassador Qi stated that China and Germany enjoy traditional friendship and are good friends and partners. Germany is a major EU member state with strong industrial capabilities and a large market. China attaches great importance to developing a stable, sustainable, and high-quality all-round strategic partnership with Germany, supports European integration and the EU's enhanced strategic autonomy, and is willing to strengthen strategic communication and expand pragmatic cooperation to inject new impetus into world peace and development. The Chinese Embassy in Croatia is willing to maintain close exchanges and communication with the German Embassy in Croatia.

Dr. Hector highly praised China's economic and technological development achievements and the friendly relations between Germany and China, expressed firm support for international law and multilateralism, and opposition to unilateral hegemony. He is willing to strengthen communication and cooperation with the Chinese Embassy in Croatia to further promote the development of Germany-China and EU-China relations.

The two sides also exchanged views on issues of common concern.
