On January 27, the Embassy of China in Croatia hosted the “Warm Spring Festival Greetings: Celebrating the Chinese New Year” 2026 Spring Festival Reception. Ambassador Qi Qianjin attended the event and delivered remarks. Over 400 guests attended, including a representative of the Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Assistant Minister H.E. Mr. Tomislav Lendić, the President’s Foreign and European Policy Advisor H.E. Mr. Neven Pelicarić, former Presidents H.E. Mr. Stjepan Mesić and H.E. Mr. Ivo Josipović, members of the diplomatic corps in Croatia, representatives of Chinese-funded institutions, as well as overseas Chinese communities, teachers, and students.

Ambassador Qi stated that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and the Communist Party of China, China’s modernization has continued to advance steadily. China–Croatia relations have maintained positive momentum, and practical cooperation between the two countries has yielded fruitful results. He expressed China’s readiness to work with the Croatian side to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation in areas including infrastructure, new energy, scientific and technological innovation, and tourism and cultural exchanges, and to continuously strengthen the friendship between the two peoples.

Guests extended Spring Festival greetings to the Chinese people, exchanged views in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and enjoyed cultural performances presented by the Busina Brass Quintet, the Croatian Wushu Federation, and the Ivan Goran Kovacic Academic Choir. The reception was filled with a festive, warm, and harmonious atmosphere.
