On February 3, 2026, Ambassador Qi Qianjin to Croatia met with Ms. Marija Vučković, Minister for Environmental Protection and Green Transition of Croatia.

Ambassador Qi noted that, under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, China has intensified efforts in environmental protection and the development of renewable energy. He stated that these efforts are highly aligned with Croatia’s national strategies, and expressed the hope that cooperation in renewable energy could be developed into a new highlight of bilateral relations through the expansion of new projects.

Minister Vučković said that Croatia and China, as well as Europe and China, share common interests in green transition and climate change response. She expressed her expectation that Croatia and China will strengthen cooperation in areas such as green energy and electric vehicles.
