On February 23, 2026, Ambassador Qi Qianjin to Croatia attended the Joint Ramadan Solidarity Event and delivered remarks. Mr. Nermin Botonjić, Secretary of the Mešihat of the Islamic Community in Croatia, was also present and addressed the event.

Ambassador Qi stated that the Chinese Embassy’s participation in the event was intended to extend sincere Ramadan greetings to the Muslim community in Croatia and to provide assistance to those in need. He noted that China is committed to fostering a strong sense of national community and fully respects the lawful rights and interests, as well as the religious beliefs, of people of all ethnic groups, including Muslims. He welcomed Croatian friends to visit Islamic communities in China, such as those in Xinjiang and Ningxia, to conduct field visits and gain a deeper understanding.

The event was initiated by the Embassy of Indonesia in Croatia, and ten embassies were invited to participate.
