On 27 February 2026, Qi Qianjin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Croatia, attended the annual meeting of the Croatian-Chinese Friendship Society Rijeka and delivered remarks. More than 30 participants attended the event, including Ante Simonić, President of the Society and former Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia, as well as Ana Štefančić Modrić, a special representative of the Governor of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

In his remarks, Ambassador Qi took the significant progress made in China’s health and medical sector as a starting point to introduce the people-centered philosophy of development of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government. He spoke highly of the Society’s contributions to promoting cooperation between the two countries in areas such as local exchanges, the economy, and culture. He encouraged the Society to continue making use of the unique strengths of people-to-people diplomacy to consolidate friendship between the two peoples, deepen practical cooperation, and promote cultural exchanges.

Members of the Croatian-Chinese Friendship Society Rijeka spoke highly of China’s achievements in economic and social development, as well as the people-centered governance philosophy of the Chinese government. They expressed their willingness to make new and greater contributions to enhancing friendship between the peoples of the two countries and promoting cooperation in various fields.
