On March 31, 2026, Ambassador Qi Qianjin met with Croatian producer Goran Milić and members of the documentary team of What’s Up Kina.

Ambassador Qi extended congratulations on the documentary’s strong reception in Croatia and its topping the ratings nationwide. He commended the team for their dedicated efforts, noting that the documentary presents China’s development from an authentic perspective, effectively enhancing the Croatian public’s understanding of China and serving as an important bridge for promoting mutual understanding between the two peoples. He expressed the hope that the team would continue to tell compelling stories about China and China–Croatia friendship, and make further contributions to bilateral exchanges and cooperation.

Goran Milić and his colleagues expressed their sincere appreciation for the strong support provided by the Chinese Embassy in Croatia and China Media Group. They spoke highly of China’s achievements in economic and social development, noting that the team had gained a deep appreciation of China’s vitality and unique appeal. They expressed their willingness to further explore and present stories about China through their work, with a view to offering the Croatian public a true and multidimensional portrayal of China.

The team traveled to China in April 2025 to film the documentary What’s Up Kina, which was broadcast on Croatian national television from December 2025 to February 2026.
