On July 28, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Croatia Qi Qianjin met with Žarko Tušek, State Secretary of the Croatian Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure. Counselor Li Guangjun, who leads economic and commercial affairs at the embassy, attended the meeting.

Ambassador Qi stated that China and Croatia possess complementary strengths, with remarkable achievements in cooperation across areas such as infrastructure development and green transition. He expressed appreciation for the Croatian government's positive and pragmatic policy toward China and hopes that Croatia will continue to provide a fair and favorable environment for Chinese enterprises operating in the country. Ambassador Qi also expressed hope that Croatia will play an active role within the European Union to encourage China-EU dialogue and consultation to address mutual trade concerns.

State Secretary Tušek praised the outcomes of practical cooperation between China and Croatia, stating a willingness to work jointly with the Chinese side to build more cooperation platforms and foster favorable conditions for Chinese businesses.
