On August 25, Chinese Ambassador to Croatia Qi Qianjin met with the delegation led by Mufti Hasanović of the Islamic Community of Croatia, who had just concluded a visit to Xinjiang.

Ambassador Qi congratulated the delegation on the successful visit to Xinjiang. He stated that guided by the Communist Party of China’s principles for governing Xinjiang in the new era, Xinjiang enjoys stability and harmony and has made historic achievements in development. Freedom of religious belief and human rights are effectively guaranteed. All ethnic groups live in harmony as one big family of the motherland. More Muslims from Croatia are welcome to visit Xinjiang and see it for themselves.

Mufti Hasanović expressed his gratitude to the Embassy and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region for the invitation to visit Urumqi, Kashgar and other places. He noted that China has made tremendous efforts in counter-terrorism and de-radicalization, and that Xinjiang’s development achievements are impressive. He stands ready to present a true picture of Xinjiang to more Muslim communities in Croatia.
