On September 16, the Chinese Embassy in Croatia hosted a reception to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Qi Qianjin, Chinese Ambassador to Croatia, and Reiner, Deputy Speaker and representative of the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, attended the event and delivered speeches. Also present were Glasovac, Deputy Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, Mihotić, State Secretary of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Pelicarić, Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Croatia, Korlaet, Deputy Mayor of Zagreb, and other Croatian dignitaries, eminent public figures, diplomatic envoys stationed in Croatia, as well as representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises and overseas Chinese in Croatia, totalling about 500 guests. 

In his address, Ambassador Qi reviewed China’s development achievements over the past 77 years, elaborated on the important concepts and propositions put forward by President Xi Jinping, explained that China stays committed to pursuing a path of peaceful, open and green development, and stressed that China is an important force for safeguarding world peace and promoting development and prosperity.

Tonka, Croatia’s first humanoid robot built on the Unitree G1 platform developed by China’s Unitree Robotics, provided interpretation during Ambassador Qi’s speech and performed dance and kung fu. The reception was permeated with a warm atmosphere, and guests spoke highly of China’s achievements in scientific and technological innovation and development.
