In the last few days,Chinese ambassador to Croatia Mrs. Deng Ying paid a working visit to the region of Istra and to the city of Rijeka.
During the visit, Ambassador Deng met separately with Mrs. Benussi, Vice President of the Region, Mr. Miletić, Mayor of the City of Pula, Mr. Štifanić, Mayor of the City of Poreč and with Mr. Budicin, Deputy Mayor of the City of Rovinj. The two sides exchanged views on enhancing sister cities relationship and further deepening of pragmatic cooperation in trade, tourism, culture, education and in various other fields. On the occasion, Ambassador Deng gave a statement to the local media.
Her Excellency visited the local nursing home where women’s group of the Chinese Embassy gave a wonderful dancing and singing performance, which was received with enthusiastic acclaim.
A few days ago, Ambassador Deng paid official visit to the City of Rijeka. On meeting with the Mayor of Rijeka Mr. Vojko Obersnel, they exchanged views that both sides should use in full the potential provided by China and Central and Eastern European Countries cooperative mechanism to enhance cooperation at local regions, especially in the fields of infrastructure, trade, education, sports by stressing the importance of further development of the sister cities friendly cooperation and Rijeka’s high importance as the biggest Croatian port and its active role in the cooperation platform of China and Central and Eastern European Countries,.
